SINOPSIS

Džon i Džejn Smit su prosečan bračni par iz predgrađa koji uživa u svom običnom braku u provinciji. Međutim, jedno od drugog kriju ono zbog čega bi se poubijali da znaju: gospodin i gospođa Smit su zapravo veoma dobro obučeni i plaćeni izuzetno efikasni atentatori koji rade za suparničke organizacije.

Gospodin i gospođa Smit otkrivaju nova uzbuđenja u braku kada ih organizacije unajme da ubiju jedno drugo. Tada počinje prava zabava. Rezultat je vrhunski akcioni spektakl, dok gospodin i gospođa Smit u svom braku isprobavaju i svoje veštine.

Bred Pit i Andželina Žoli glume gospodina i gospođu Smit u ovoj seksi akcionoj avanturi ispunjenoj uzbudljivom akcijom, izuzetnim specijalnim efektima i neverovatnim vratolomijama. To je komedija snažnih likova koji imaju neke obične probleme.

O REŽISERU

Dag Liman (reditelj)
Postao je najtraženije novo ime u Holivudu nakon filmova "Swingers" i "Go". Kasnije je režirao "Bornov identitet", triler zasnovan na istoimenom romanu Roberta Ladlama, u kome je glavnu ulogu igrao Met Dejmon, što je 2002. godine postalo veliki filmski hit.

Rođen u Njujorku, Liman se upisuje na Međunarodni centar za fotografiju još tokom srednje škole. Prvi kratki film snimio je još kao sedmogodišnjak. Diplomirao je u filmskoj i televizijskoj školi na Univerzitetu u Južnoj Kaliforniji, gde je režirao prvi dugometražni igrani film - triler komediju "Getting In" ( ~ "Student Body"). Prvi nezavisni film - "Swingers", koji je producirao i režirao, postaje veliki hit. Taj film snimljen je za svega 250.000 dolara – koje mu je pozajmio otac, čuveni istraživač Artur Liman.

Sledeći film bio je "Go", retko uzbudljivi akcioni film sa nekoliko neverovatnih sekvenci koje su postigle da film postane hit i da promoviše mlade glumce poput Sare Poli, Kejti Holms i Taja Digsa. Nakon filma "Go", Liman producira nekoliko uspešnih filmova poput "See Jane Run" i "Kissing Jessica Stein".

Bred Pit (Džon Smit)
Nedavno je glumio u "Troji" pored Erika Bane i Orlanda Bluma. Prošle godine je glumio i u filmu "Ponovo u igri" pored Džordža Klunija, Ketrin Zite Džouns, Džulije Roberts i ostatka briljatnog ansambla iz prvog filma.

Sledeći film u kome će se pojaviti je "Babel", koji će režirati Alehandro Gonzalez Inaritu ("Pasji život", "21 gram"). Njegova karijera kreće pozitivnim smerom posle filma Ridlija Skota "Telma i Luiz" (1991), nakon kojeg je privukao svetsku pažnju na sebe. Posle toga, glumio je psihopatu u Kaliforniji, harizmatičnog sina u filmu Roberta Redforda "Reke uspomena" i krvopiju Luja u filmu Nila Džordana "Intervju sa vampirom".

Bio je dva puta nominovan za Zlatni globus - za ulogu Tristana u filmu "Legende o jeseni" i za epizodu u filmu Terija Gilijama "Dvanaest majmuna", za šta je i osvojio nagradu, kao i nominaciju za Oskara.

Igrao je glavne uloge u "Špijunskoj igri", "Meksikancu", "Sneču" i filmu "Full Frontal", a pozajmio je glas i glavnom junaku animiranog filma "Sinbad: legenda o sedam mora". Ostali filmovi su: "Johnny Suede", "Cool World", "Prava romansa", "Spavači", "Đavolje vlasništvo", "Sedam godina na Tibetu", "Upoznajte Džoa Bleka" i "Borilački klub".

Andželina Žoli (Džejn Smit)
Dobila je jednog Oskara i tri puta bila nominovana za Zlatni globus. Prošle godine glumila je u trileru "Uzimanje života" sa Itanom Houkom, akcionoj avanturi "Nebeski kapetan i svet sutrašnjice", pored Džada Loa i Gvinet Paltrou, i u "Aleksandru" Olivera Stouna. Pozajmila je i glas ribici u "Velikom lovcu na ajkule".

Pre toga, 2001. i 2003. godine odigrala je glavnu junakinju Laru Kroft u dva filma koji su bili veliki hitovi, a igrala je i glavnu ulogu u provokativnoj drami "Izvan granica". Bila je zapažena i glavna uloga u "Originalnom grehu", gde joj je partner bio Antonio Banderas, kao i u filmovima "Bekstvo za 60 sekundi", "Život ili nešto slično", "Sakupljač kostiju", "Kontrola letenja" i "Playing by Heart", koji joj donosi prva značajna priznanja.

Naravno, najznačajnija uloga je lik poremećene devojke u "Neprilagođenoj", za koji je dobila Oskara u kategoriji najbolje epizodne ženske uloga i brojne druge nagrade. Isto toliko nagrada osvojila je i za ulogu u televizijskoj drami "Džia", gde je glumila manekenku koja umire od side. Glumu je studirala u čuvenom Institutu "Li Strasberg" u Njujorku i u školi "Silvana Galardo" u Los Anđelesu.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie on Playing Assassins in “Mr. and Mrs. Smith:” “The assassins thing is secondary to me. The movie to me plays so much more on the level of relationships. That was kind of the backdrop or the metaphor for getting lost in your work. But having said that, [Angelina Jolie’s] a damn good shot,” joked Pitt.

Jolie added, “Obviously the film – like [Brad] was saying - it’s a comment that is all a metaphor for marriage. It’s a wild and crazy one, but I do think it is a good one, and I think what makes us good assassins. But at the end of the day it’s interesting two [assassins] have to learn how to be a team. I think that’s incredibly interesting.”

Brad Pitt Sets the Record Straight: Is it True He Only Wanted Angelina Jolie for the Role?: “I don’t know where that story came from. Originally, at one point, there was another actress and she had to drop out. And then, certainly our main contender was Angelina because it was really important that Mr. and Mrs. had some form of equality. And what I mean by that, when you have fight scenes when you’re literally punching the s**t out of each other, you’ve got to believe they’re equally matched, I would say.”

Mixing Comedy, Drama, Action, Romance – Getting the Tone of the Movie Right: “That was all this bunch here [indicating the director and producers]. This was one big think tank. I guess we’re missing Simon [Kinberg, the writer] and a couple other people. Know that this thing could have so easily devolved into an action film. That was the danger with this thing and we were very conscious of keeping the relationship in the forefront. And what I think Doug [Liman] did best, and certainly to his credit, was any action that did take place, it was secondary - it was the backdrop. It surrounded whatever argument they were having at the time, or whatever personal dynamic they needed to work out at that moment,” said Pitt.

“I think I was asking for the first few months what the tone is. I don’t think anybody had an answer for what exactly the tone was, because it is a little bit of everything, which is really nice, to try to find that balance,” explained Jolie, to which her co-star Pitt proclaimed, “That’s not true! I had an answer, she just didn’t listen. She disagreed with me wholeheartedly.” Getting serious, Pitt said, “No, we took from movies, you know, like movies like ‘Midnight Run,’ which is a true, successful amalgamation of films that have a comedic bent to it, but there’s also action and drama. And it’s really, I believe, a most difficult line to walk.”

Brad Pitt on How it Felt to Fight a Woman Onscreen: “I felt good, I felt very good [joking]. Well, I took some shots though. If you re-wind it I took some really good shots. But again, the thing was not to be taken - knowing that the thing was not to be taken literally, we could go as far as we wanted to go. And to me it’s one of the best comedic pieces of the thing. Again representative of how, you know, we take each other out in some form or another.”

On Hitting, Kicking, Kissing, and Making Love – All in One Scene: Jolie smiled as she responded, “Well, I wasn’t upset about that. I mean, it’s a strange thing we all do for a living. And at the end of the day, it’s a really fun script. It’s about love and marriage and so it has all of those things in it. And it’s got all those elements that make for a great film and so it was fun to do.” Pitt threw in, “And we like extremes, so why not take it to the end?”

Angelina Jolie on Her Character Pretending to be Less Skilled Than Her Husband: “I think we’ve all done that at some point in our lives. We’ve all lessened ourselves – in any way, in a relationship or any situation - to kind of blend in or to make people comfortable. But I don’t think it’s a good thing to do. I think we should all absolutely be everything we can be and encourage that from others.”

The Possibility of a “Mr and Mrs Smith 2:” Producer Akiva Goldsman said there was a different ending shot (which will be included on the DVD) that shows the couple having a baby. That could possibly be the launching point for a sequel because, as Goldsman explained, it seemed like a natural evolution to the story. While that might be the direction of the story, Pitt wasn’t sure if he’d say yes or no to a sequel. “It always comes down to the script and if the script works, it’s a possibility. But who can say at that point, really.”

Asked if she’d agree to signing on for another one, Jolie said, “I don’t know. I don’t think I can answer anything like that. I mean, if you asked me today, I would say no today. But I don’t know. You never know. But I think the more interesting answer to that is that if you were to take them to the next evolution, it would be that they can take on pretty much anything, but I betcha a bunch of little kids would take them on. And there’s something beautiful about that that we all know about children, no matter how tough they are, you know, that would be the greatest challenge.”

Angelina Jolie on Going the Comedic Route: “I was really uncomfortable and I wasn’t very sure of myself because I’ve never really done one so I was nervous. But everybody, all this panel [the producers, director, and Brad Pitt] made me feel more comfortable, and so I got silly.”

Brad Pitt on Making the Chemistry Look Real: Pitt deflected the question with a joke. “Between me and Vince [Vaughn]? It was like, it was powerful. We knew immediately when we looked into each other’s eyes. I know the crew could feel it… You know Vince and I now, we’re just, we’re platonic friends, and we respect each other professionally, and that’s all I have to say about it. Is there a future? I don’t know, I don’t know.” Responding to another question about what he liked about Angelina, Pitt abstained from answering but couldn’t resist adding a little more about his co-star Vaughn. “Handsome, handsome fellow; tender lover; makes wonderful Eggs Benedict. But I hate his morning breath.”

Improvisation in “Mr and Mrs Smith:” “It wasn’t so much improvised as it was… We had a great script to start with and we had a great template for a relationship, and we just, really it was this think tank here who would talk [about] the scenes endlessly to the point of nausea, each day, whatever we were tackling that day. And it was that kind of freshness to it. It wasn’t so much improv during the scenes much. But it added to the freshness and we all kind of threw in our bits,” said Pitt.

Brad Pitt on His Newly Blonde Hair: “I was just really concerned that I have not been getting enough publicity, so I thought I needed to do something to draw more attention. I’m ashamed to admit it, but I’ll cop to it - for publicity (laughing).”
