The rumours surrounding a potential move to Madrid for Ronaldo have come to the fore once more after comments by the Portuguese international to the Spanish media on Thursday. At the press conference after Friday's training session, Robinho was asked his thoughts on Ronaldo and the chance of him moving to the Bernabeu for next season. "I believe that Cristiano Ronaldo is the best player in the world," he affirmed. "He is on top; he will play in the Champions League final and must be on the verge of winning the Ballon d'Or. It is always good for players of his standard to come to Real Madrid because the coach will have better options to choose from and that can only be to the advantage of the team." Support For Levante It is still uncertain whether Madrid's game with Levante on Sunday will go ahead due to the possibility of a strike by the Levante players over unpaid wages. Robinho indicated that the Madrid players are in full support of their Levante counterparts, but suggested that it would be a shame if Madrid were denied the opportunity to celebrate their title victory with the fans one more time. "We do not know if we are going to play. Of course we support the Levante players and we want for their problems to be solved, but we also want to play and celebrate the league title with our supporters," he explained. Consistency Is Key Robinho was on top form in the first half of the season but has somewhat petered out during the second half. The twenty-four year old recognises that this is the case and is hoping for a more consistent campaign next time around. "This season I began at a good level, but then I faded for a while before coming back to form in the final weeks. I hope to begin next season like I started this one and continue that yield throughout the campaign," he concluded.
