Grant may jump before being pushed at Chelsea

Avram Grant may choose to jump before he is pushed out of Chelsea, says a close friend.

Eyal Lachman, one of his closest friends, believes Grant may take control of his own destiny, regardless of whether he snatches the Premier League title from Manchester United today and defeats the same opponents in the Champions League final in Moscow in 10 days' time.

Lachman, head coach at Ghana's Hearts of Oak and linked to a role at Stamford Bridge under Grant, told the Mail on Sunday: "I won't be surprised at all if Avram leaves Chelsea at the end of the season.

"We are good friends and when we speak it is about football. Avram is a man of decision, as we can learn from the past."

Chelsea to invite offers for Malouda, Wright-Phillips

Chelsea boss Avram Grant is inviting offers for wingers Florent Malouda and Shaun Wright-Phillips.

The News of the World says Grant has been disappointed by Chelsea's wide-men this season - especially Malouda and Wright-Phillips.

Both could be on their way in the summer.


Chelsea ready to meet Spurs asking price for Berbatov

Chelsea are prepared to meet Tottenham's asking price for striker Dimitar Berbatov.

The Observer says Chelsea, set to lose Didier Drogba this summer, and Barcelona are the only two clubs prepared to pay Tottenham's £30m valuation of Berbatov.

But Emil Dantchev, Berbatov's agent, seemed to query Spurs' valuation.

"Speak to the club," he said. "I have no comment to make other than what I will say in general about the price of players - the market finds a natural valuation for them."



Chelsea go for Porto star Quaresma

Chelsea are moving for Porto wing ace Ricardo Quaresma.

The News of the World says the 24-year-old ace will not come cheap, with Porto having slapped a £20million tag on him.

Chelsea's Drogba: I'll be fit for Moscow

Chelsea striker Didier Drogba has declared he'll be fit for the Champions League final.

Drogba collected a knee injury in yesterday's 1-1 draw with Bolton, but told The Sun: "Of course I'll be okay for the final."

Chelsea confirm talks, medical with Porto's Bosingwa

Chelsea have announced they're signing Porto fullback Jose Bosingwa.

Portugal international full-back Bosingwa will join Chelsea in a deal worth just over £16 million. Boswinga, 25, will join former Porto team-mates - and international colleagues - Paulo Ferreiro and Ricardo Carvalho at Stamford Bridge four years after Jose Mourinho brought the defenders to London with him.

Chelsea released a statement saying: "Chelsea Football Club can confirm it has reached an agreement with FC Porto for the transfer of Jose Bosingwa.

"The player is now in England to discuss personal terms and undergo a medical."

Bosingwa became a first-team regular at Porto following Ferreira's move to Chelsea, after Jose Mourinho had signed him from Boavista in 2003.

Born in Kinshasa, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Bosingwa has won six caps for Portugal since making his international debut last year.

A statement on Porto's website read: "FC Porto has informed the market it has reached an agreement in principle with Chelsea for the transfer, permanently, of the rights of membership of the sport athlete Jose Bosingwa, at a price of €20.5 million.

"The agreement on this transfer will be formalised once the athlete completes medical examinations, with the consent of FC Porto, Futebol SAD."

Chelsea ready to cash in on Anelka

Chelsea are ready to sell Nicolas Anelka less than six months after signing him from Bolton Wanderers for £15 million.

The Sunday Mirror says Anelka, 29, has failed to make a major impact since his arrival at Stamford Bridge. He has scored just two goals in 23 appearances.

Blues boss Avram Grant is wrestling with the problem of how to bring the best out of Anelka, who has not adapted to Chelsea's style of play. He also needs to resolve Didier Drogba's future.

Chelsea advisor De Visser on move from PSV

Chelsea advisor Piet de Visser is set to be on the move in the coming months.

De Visser, who works as Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich's personal scout, is leaving PSV Eindhoven when his contract expires on July 1. NAC Breda could move for the experienced manager, says De Stem.
